Government does little well. One exception is the manner in which it twists reality, shaping it via the use of propaganda designed to aid in its further accretion of wealth and power. That is exactly what the term “fair” is good for. It is a word designed to deliberately obfuscate.
Wouldn’t it be nice if every time a politician resorted to use of the word “fair” some loud gong would go off like in the old TV show where people were “gonged” off-stage. If that is considered to impolite, perhaps their pay could be reduced by 5% every time they uttered the word.
