My Kind Of Guy
E. W. Jackson, a man I had never heard of before, is running for Lt. Governor of Virginia. He gives quite a speech! How can those in favor of freedom and the ideals of this country not approve of this? I only hope he can live up to what he expressed in his stem-winding talk. [...]
A Reasonable Discussion About Gold
I routinely feature Gordon T. Long and his Macroanalytics presentations here frequently. His analysis is generally excellent and actionable. This recent audio/slideshow includes Ty Andros, a regular with Mr. Long, and David Chapman, a newcomer to Long’s site and someone new to me. Mr. Chapman is a cycle theorist, something I have never been comfortable [...]
Character Shows In Ardmore, Pa.
As a golfer, I cannot refrain from offering some off-subject comments regarding the recent US Open. The US Open is a test unlike any other in golf. It takes skill, courage and stamina. Only someone who has played competitive golf understands the enormous pressure these skilled golfers endured. Missing a shot by only a matter [...]
CHANGES ARE COMING
There are some changes that regular readers should notice. As promised, the “Trading To Armageddon” website is being combined into this one. The immediate change is an expanded menu for the site. “Trading” and “Premium” have been added. Trading is partially populated as of now, but Premium is not. Premium will be the section that [...]

The (not so) burning question remains: why are “we” laser beam focused on guns and gun control when no CT or Federal gun laws were broken?
Why hasn’t the media given the same intensive attention to the 800 lb gorilla, “Big Pharma”? Evidence abounds all but one of the notorious mass murders of recent history were committed by (mostly) young males with histories of taking prescribed psychotropic drugs: Ritilin, Prozac, Zoloft, Luvox, Xanax and a couple dozen more. Most – if not all – come with warnings of side-effects that may produce the same behaivior manifest in mass murder/suicide.
Try this: Google “Lanza toxicology report” and prepare for disappointment. It’s been a month since the tragedy and yet the local medical examnier, Dr. Wayne Carver (an unfortunate last name) has already indicated a predispositon against any telling evidence re drugs despite his statement the toxicology report is still “weeks away”. Maybe the good doctor is just prescient.
As a follow-up to the “interview” of the NRA’s Wayne LaPierre, I look forward to David Gregory grilling the presidents of Novartis, Eli Lilly, Solvay, GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer.
(No breath-holding required. Without Viagra (Pfizer), Cialis (Eli Lilly), etc., there would be no Evening News).
This is an interesting point to make.
The worst school shooting incident that I can think of occurred in Central African Republic, when school children were demonstrating against the Emperor Bokassa’s demand that they purchase school uniforms from his families factory. Bokassa had his security forces mow down over 100 children that day. Today, the site where this took place is called “la Place des Martyrs” and it was just below across the street from the lecture hall where I would teach undergraduates.
When the people have no guns legally, this doesn’t mean that there won’t be guns. Then the government will still have them, and so will criminals and the enemies of the country.
