Fixing The Problem Isn’t Difficult

Socialism_by_miniamericanflagsThe following was received via email. Supposedly it appeared in the Waco Tribune. I don’t know the author, but I assume those interested could look her up. Since the Constitution no longer matters, I assume we can make her President, even though she doesn’t meet the (formerly valid) age restriction.

“IF YOU CAN’T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER,YOU’VE GOT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM”
WRITTEN BY A 21 YEAR OLD FEMALE
Wow, this girl has a great plan! Love the last thing she would do the best. This was written by a 21 yr old female who gets it. It’s her future she’s worried about and this is how she feels about the social welfare big government state that she’s being forced to live in! These solutions are just common sense in her opinion. This was in the Waco Tribune Herald, Waco , TX , Nov 18, 2011

PUT ME IN CHARGE . . .

Put me in charge of food stamps. I’d get rid of Lone Star cards; no cash for Ding Dongs or Ho Ho’s, just money for 50-pound bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away. If you want steak and frozen pizza, then get a job.

Put me in charge of Medicaid. The first thing I’d do is to get women Norplant birth control implants or tubal ligations. Then, we’ll test recipients for drugs, alcohol, and nicotine. If you want to reproduce or use drugs, alcohol, or smoke, then get a job.

Put me in charge of government housing. Ever live in a military barracks? You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair. Your home” will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be inventoried. If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then get a job and your own place.

In addition, you will either present a check stub from a job each week or you will report to a “government” job. It may be cleaning the roadways of trash, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you. We will sell your 22 inch rims and low profile tires and your blasting stereo and speakers and put that money toward the “common good..”

Before you write that I’ve violated someone’s rights, realize that all of the above is voluntary. If you want our money, accept our rules. Before you say that this would be “demeaning” and ruin their “self esteem,” consider that it wasn’t that long ago that taking someone else’s money for doing absolutely nothing was demeaning and lowered self esteem.

If we are expected to pay for other people’s mistakes we should at least attempt to make them learn from their bad choices. The current system rewards them for continuing to make bad choices.

AND While you are on Gov’t subsistence, you no longer can VOTE! Yes, that is correct. For you to vote would be a conflict of interest. You will voluntarily remove yourself from voting while you are receiving a Gov’t welfare check. If you want to vote, then get a job.

  1. OK, but what about the banks who commit virtual murder, while only receiving cost of doing business fines and getting no jail time? Separate consumer banking from investment banking, open up the boiling vaults of derivatives, let go broke who invested stupidly, and send those to jail who did so illegally; then you can jump up on your high horse and slam those unable to protect themselves from the destructive collapse of purchasing power. Many of whom you’re so critical are elderly that did save and can’t keep pace with inflation due to ZIRP, and high taxes and fees imposed by city, state, and national governments unwilling to relinquish power.

  2. In the not too distant past charity was usually provided by private organizations affiliated with religious denominations. Recipients were held to high standards of conduct and expected to improve their condition. For a better understanding of why the old system of private charity worked pretty well and why the more recent government run welfare system doesn’t, read The Tragedy of American Compassion.

Most welfare flows upward. The lure of government contracts, subsidies, bailouts, and competition killing regulations veiled as being in the public’s best interest is irresistible to many businessmen and corporations. The distinction between public and private has become blurred. As a result, America is governed by an entrenched plutocracy. Until the shrinking middle class understands that prosperity requires an impenetrable firewall between government and the economy we’re doomed to more of the same.

  3. Yes, lets demonize those your policies have impoverished, then celebrate any and all bashing of their plight. The corporations that fund the “grass roots” zelots feeding this crap to you wing nuts (hello Koch Bros) feast on more government handouts in a week then everything spent on welfare in a year. But all is well… cause Rush and Hannity are on board!

And, quite the young lady… who of course is simply parroting the far right meme she most likely hears from her AK-47 toting “patriot” daddy at the dinner table every night, and on whack job talk radio all day.

Clearly there is no hope for America… unless of course those hollow (like all the other threats) secession plans should ever materialize!
