Paul A. Rahe predicts a landslide win for Romney in November:
In my opinion, none of the psephologists mentioned above has reflected on the degree to which the administrative entitlements state – envisaged by Woodrow Wilson and the Progressives, instituted by Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and expanded by their successors – has entered a crisis, and none of them is sensitive to the manner in which Barack Obama, in his audacity, has unmasked that state’s tyrannical propensities and its bankruptcy. In consequence, none of these psephologists has reflected adequately on the significance of the emergence of the Tea-Party Movement, on the meaning of Scott Brown’s election and the particular context within which he was elected, on the election of Chris Christie as Governor of New Jersey and of Bob McDonnell as Governor of Virginia, and on the political earthquake that took place in November, 2010. That earthquake, which gave the Republicans a strength at the state and local level that they have not enjoyed since 1928, is a harbinger of what we will see this November.
My gut tells me, as I wrote in another post that this election will not be close. Mr. Rahe provides a better reasoned position than I did, citing many reasons for his position including the following:
When the American people pause to pay attention, they will not vote for four more years of misery, four more years of corruption, four more years of lawlessness, four more years of race-baiting, and they will certainly not vote to embrace Obamacare.
For the sake of the nation, let us hope Rahe is right. Then, let’s hope Mitt Romney has the integrity, wisdom and courage to do what is necessary.
I predicted a landslide 2 years ago just based on the following:
-blacks are disillusioned
-the young are disillusioned and 54% of college grads are finding no jobs
-the conservative base will be out voting to the tune of virtually 100% because they FEAR the future of America if the America hating Marxist ass bag gets re-elected
-the left is unmotivated as seen in over 2 decades according to polls
-Obamugabe fund raising stops are half vacant
-Romney is having to turn people away from campaign stops
-Obamugabe continues to assault America on every level and the inevitable results are still being felt and will be felt in November
-conservatives outnumber liberals 2:1 in this country and that number is GROWING
-the “not Obamugabe” vote will be ENORMOUS !!!!!!!!
I’m with Paul Rahe. I see a 52 or 53% win for Romney.
Obama lost the majority with his YDBT – “You Didn’t Build That” line. There will be a few million blue collar Hilary Clinton Democrats who will see Obama for the demagogue that he is. They’ll either stay home or vote for Romney because they are scared.
And guess what? I’m scared.
Monty: You can’t have it both ways. Either the electorate is stupid, or it’s not.
In your earlier post titled “On Social Security” you ask, “How dumb can the electorate be to continue to put up with the Social Security fraud?” In answer, I say pretty damn stupid. We’re talking about the same electorate that put obama in office, right?
Yet now, with this post of yours, you hope the American people pause to pay attention and make the correct choice this next election. The evidence is in…and it’s overwhelming. The electorate is painfully ill-informed, willfully ignorant, and just plain stupid. Unfortunately, the electorate isn’t getting smarter, it’s getting more stupid every day. Did I mention we’re screwed?
I think the electorate is stupid, but perhaps not stupid enough to repeat their mistake. The problem is the number of takers voting. One can only hope that some of the takers either stay home or do what is right for the country instead of themselves.
