Doug Ross has an important article on the violations of the Constitution and the usurpation of power by the Imperial President Obama. He cites 10 things that President Romney can do based on executive order precedents of Obama. His article is a bit tongue-in-cheek, probably to scare the daylights out of liberals about what could happen when they lose power.

Even Politico has expressed concern over Obama’s blatant disregard for law:

Rather than pushing new laws through a divided Congress to enact his agenda, Obama is relying on federal agencies to ignore, or at least not defend, laws that some of his important supporters — like Hispanic voters and the gay community — don’t like.

“If the president says we’re not going to enforce the law, there’s really nothing anyone can do about it,” University of Pennsylvania constitutional law professor Kermit Roosevelt said. “It’s clearly a political calculation.”

Mr. Ross is correct regarding the precedents and how they can be reversed just as easily. Liberals should understand that empowerment of the presidency only seems good when their guy is imposing their policies.

An imperial presidency emasculates Congress and ultimately the Rule of Law. It is exactly what our Founders did not want, knowing the abuses that would result. Regardless of who ascends to the office of the president, America loses under such unrestrained power. Both parties will abuse the power to drive the country into totalitarianism.
