Mish provides a summary of reporting on disintegration of Greece:

Coverage of the chaos in Greece is now everywhere I look. Here is a sampling of stories:

Greek protesters fight with police as parliament agrees cuts deal

As more than 40 buildings went up in flames, including two historic cinemas and several banks, Athens city centre was left resembling a war zone with cafes and shops smashed and looted as MPs backed the austerity measures by 199 votes to 74 in the single most important ballot in modern Greek history.

  1. I said this yesterday, but I think it’s worth repeating:

Paul Ryan recently said we really only have 2 years (3 at most) to get back to the road of fiscal sanity. After that, no one buys our bonds, interest rates will likely be near 5% as they will INEVITABLY have to increase, and we will be forced to pay 5% interest on 20 TRILLION dollars of debt which amounts to a trillion annually. We currently pay virtually no interest.

Think Greece is bad? wait until our uneducated, violent welfare dependents stop getting their gov’t goodies.

  2. I believe this is that top down bottom up inside out thing that Glenn Beck talks about quoting Obama’s good bud and co-conspirator Van Jones. The article talks about Americans not understanding, that’s simply because the media does not explain. To do so would make it clear what socialism and democrat policies lead to.

It will eventually get here, I think its supposed to and Obama and company are working toward that end. One thing (among countless) that I find troubling is the liberalization of our military. Up until recently we all figured we could count on a traditional, pro-American, pro-liberty military, an institution highly esteemed by the vast majority of our citizenry. However, now it seems that frequently we see the military reflecting the latest social experiment. It seems that all of the branches except the marines are asking how high when Obama says jump.

What will the military do when the SHTF?

  3. What gets me is while all this is happening we have a President and Congress in the USA who seems to think that adding more debt is the answer. It’s only a matter of time before the debt bubble here pops.
