The Young and Restless

Zerohedge focuses on the problem that scares the daylight out of European politicians:

… the last thing Europe needs is a discontented, disenfranchised, and devoid of hope youth roving the streets with nothing to do, easily susceptible to extremist and xenophobic tendencies: after all, it must be “someone’s” fault that there are no job opportunities for anyone.

Here is the chart that shows the extent of youth unemployment in Europe:

 

The US figures for the comparable age group is probably close to that of Portugal, although government figures are not apt to be accurate. In this case, they are probably understated.
