A devastating critique of Barack Obama appeared on American Thinker. Karin McQuillan authored the piece filled with excellent observations. While she didn’t explicitly use the terms “psychopath” or “sociopath,” it is difficult not to read the piece without these words coming to mind.
Here is an excerpt from her article:
Conservative Republicans believe that Obama stands not for a failed presidency as much as for a malevolent one. He is unknown even to his own party, because he is hiding his true goals and values. He does not act like a typical liberal, because he is actually a radical. He’s not interested in crafting good laws and policies or working with the opposition, because his goal is destruction. He is following the exact prescription of “the late American socialist Michael Harrington’s ‘socialist realignment strategy’ — deliberately dividing Americans by class ‘with Republicans marked out as the aggressors,’ forcing the ‘have-nots’ to act as a unified, pro-socialist – and electorally dominant – force.”
The disease that afflicts the resident of the White House is now deeply embedded in the modern Democrat Party. It will destroy the Party, including those sane and thoughtful Democrats. Dems have wrongly supported their leader at the expense of doing what is right for the country. This political greed will cost them dearly.
Democrats saw what happened in 2010, fearing the same outcome in 2012. That is why so many Democrats decided to “retire” from office rather than stand for re-election. Unfortunately the intellectual pygmies of the Party have chosen to continue to follow their false god. Small people with craven instincts, few scruples and no sense of country are headed for what they deserve — another humiliating defeat. This might be the deathknell of the Party, relegating it to the dustbin of history.
But don’t think a landslide election in 2012 will change much. Then we will face a similar situation, only with a Republican monopoly of government. Establishment Republicans are little different from Democrats. They may not be as aggressive in the sense that they usurp power at a slower rate. They have never shown an inclination to give up power or truly reverse the forces at work in the country. Acton’s Law regarding the abuse of power is universal and not limited to one side of the aisle.
Will this insanity and movement toward totalitarianism ever be reversed? One would hope so, although history is not supportive of such turnarounds. It is difficult to imagine how it can happen within a political context. Perhaps the looming bankruptcy of the government and much of the nation will kindle the spark that removes people from their “American Idol” and “Jersey Shore” lives.
We can only hope this happens soon and demagogues do not take control of the situation and destroy our form of government.
Obamugabe will lose in a landslide. Recent polls show more people FEAR him by a 2:1 margin. FEAR him. Never before can we say the conservative base was as motivated as it is now, because we understand we have to remove a tyrant.
Mr. Pelerin is correct in that little will change under the establishment GOP aside from this. We will have removed an America hating Marxist hell bent on bringing America to her knees and submit to tyranny. That in and of itself is a huge accomplishment, but will any of the favored candidates heal the wounds inflicted by the Teleprompter Tyrant? Not a chance. They too will cling to power and expand our ever invasive gov’t, just at a slower more benevolent pace.
Either way, prepapre for the worst.
As you clearly pointed out, the establisment R’s will take us to the same totalitarian destination as the D’s just at a slower speed. Ben Franklin had it right; “Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom.” Those who exchange their votes for government freebies or those who think legislating against our God-given Liberties is justified cannot be considered “virtuous”. When DeToqueville visited, he marveled at the widespread political awareness of the citizenry. Today we have more people watching “American Idol” than bothering to vote in general elections. Unless this can somehow be changed, there is no hope no matter who may win this fall.
@Monty: Where would you go? The US is the last, best hope of Liberty on the planet. ref: The 5000 Year Leap.
Ken,
I am not sure there is a safe place. Panama, Costa Rica, Australia, New Zealand are options that appear reasonable today, but when the economic apocalypse hits around the world, one cannot predict the responses of Statists. At my age, I will stay with this troubled ship. The enemy you know may be worse than the friend you assume.
I hope the confidence about the Democrats losing bigtime in 2012 is justified. I’m not so sure. Close to 50% of the country is receiving some kind of government check, and they will view the Democrats as their benefactors. Obama’s leanings were very clear in 2008. There was widespread knowledge about his associations with Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers and others, yet he won. He’ll attack his likely opponent (Romney) as being a rich guy who doesn’t pay his fair share of taxes. The media will run stories about Mormons being a cult. Don’t assume that 2012 will be a slam dunk.
Pavan,
2012 will not be a slam dunk. It will likely be the toughest, most hard fought campaign of our lifetimes. It is necessary that the Dems be removed from power, although not assured. This is the last shot for productive Americans. The transition to Socialism will be irreversible via the political process after this election. By then, the tax consumers will outnumber the tax producers and programs will never be reduced by election. My wife keeps telling me that we are leaving the country if this coming election goes wrong. Even if it goes right, there are no guarantees that the same problem doesn’t occur. Pandering to the masses is the sport of choice of politicians.
