This excerpt from Simon Black describes the behavior to expect from bankrupt, desperate governments:

Stefan Homburg, one of Germany’s few contrarian economists, recently summed this up to the German paper Sueddeutsche:

“History shows that [bankrupt governments] take radical measures such as expropriation of private assets, wealth taxes, or banning gold ownership… and in a state of emergency, basic rights are suspended.”

  1. Haven’t solved the conversion yet (Yahoo seems to own this one), but will keep slugging it out. This seems interesting..

You’re right, Monty, almost everyone CAN read German — in Germany….

  2. How can I get to the English version of the expanded article? Help please – thanks

    • I took the quote from Simon Black’s article which was in English.
If you go to the German version, there is probably a way to have Google translate for you. I thought everyone could read German!

  3. Expect the WORST! Already we are presumed guilty rather than innocent every time a TSA agent gropes us. Now they can randomly stop us on the roads and ask us for our papers as in Nazi Germany (just US citizens, illegals are free to do as they please). Expect out right violation of law, seizure of all types of property, martial law, etc etc etc,
