Simon Black discusses the options of Europe and the US regarding their financial problem. In both cases, there is no solution. What will be tried politically to avoid/extend the problem will not work and only aggravate the final, inevitable outcome. His recommendation to Germany and other countries follows:

“Buckle up, people, we’re about to swallow a nasty pill… better we get it over with now than drag it out for years.”

The same goes for the United States.

All of these countries have seen the face of disaster before; there’s not a single nation on this planet that hasn’t been through a terrible period in its history. People suffer. They survive. And then they move on.

Unfortunately, no politician has the courage to undertake the correct policies. Hence, we are headed for a worse ending than is necessary.
