The failure of the Obama Presidency was apparent to keen observers for more than a year. Now it has become obvious to even his obtuse supporters. Steven McCann explains why in a timely article:
Barack Obama, because at his core he is self-absorbed, dishonest and without coherence in his personal beliefs, was incapable of understanding the importance of this moment to lead in the debate over raising the debt limit and its impact on a nation facing financial and societal bankruptcy. The die is now cast. He has made permanent in the minds of a majority of American people the image of a man incapable of being President. There is nothing he can do in the remaining 16 months before the election, particularly as the United States is clearly headed into another severe economic downturn, to change that perception.
We are watching a national tragedy in process. A clever, talented poseur, convinced of his own importance, greatness and perhaps divine nature, is imploding before our eyes. In the space of a few short years his role in the public’s eyes has has moved from The Messiah to The Public Nuisance to The Great Incompetent Impostor. His 15 minutes of fame have turned into a nightmare that his inflated ego and delicate psyche may not withstand. Accolades to humiliations in less than three years is difficult for even the well-balanced to accept.
Let us hope that members of the government, especially those in his own party, see the dangers associated with accommodating this pruning mountebank and halt his childish and dangerous antics. My belief is that the Democrats will, not out of concern for country but for their own personal political careers. If it comes down to Obama and their staying on the political gravy train, you can kiss Obama goodbye. He was useful for a while. Now he is a dangerous liability who must be sacrificed for the good of the party.
The problem is that he was voted in irrespective of how idiotic he is. And half of americans still believe his claptrap when he makes speeches.

I agree with you assessment of Obama totally, but I’m not sure the bulk of Americans have caught on yet. Let’s face it, we conservatives live in a bubble of sorts in that we are very much exposed to the truth while most Americans are not. Let’s forget Fox News, Rush, Beck and the other conservative radio personalities, forget our conservative websites. Imagine that all of your brain input comes from everything else. Pretty scary, huh? Fortunately, I believe that most thinking people not totally indoctrinated in the cult of liberalism senses much of what you said, perhaps an uneasy feeling, but we still have a way to go yet. We’re already over the edge of the cliff and are free falling to the bottom, will Americans suck it up and fend and support themselves, or will they cry out for the government to provide for them?
Of course Obama is not alone to blame for what happened yesterday (the budget passing the House). To be sure, he is the most important player–the most powerful figure among a gang of profligate and wicked rulers. Together with Congress, the US has decided to ignore reality and to continue the party. I am short the dollar, long gold, silver and esp. oil. Unfortunately, many are too deeply invested in the dollar to divest quickly. This is the reason that Vladimir Putin is so angry. He called Bernanke a hooligan and the US a parasite:
“They are living like parasites off the global economy and their monopoly of the dollar.” ( http://www.zerohedge.com/news/word-war-two-after-calling-bernanke-hooligan-putin-now-says-america-parasite-living-global-econ ). But what is he and all the other central banks around the world going to do with all those worthless reserves of greenbacks? The US dollar is now officially a sham–nothing can save it now (in my opinion).
Amazing that the leadership of Russia today is more competent, realistic, honest and law abiding than the leadership of the United States.
