It pains me to watch my country deteriorate.
As many know, I consider our condition past the tipping point in terms of economics, politics and simple mathematics. This condition did not develop overnight or in the last couple of years. It has been coming on for a very long time. What has happened recently is a massive, unnecessary acceleration of the process. A couple of years ago, it was possible to avert the disaster we spin toward. Now it is not.
President Obama is part of the blame, indeed a major part. His actions pushed us past the tipping point. The stage, however, was set long before Obama ever got to Washington. No Presidents are blameless. Had Obama never existed, we would have reached a terminal stage but not as soon.
While Democrats might have a higher propensity toward destructive programs, Republicans have this tendency as well. The terminal point is likely to be reached under a Republican President. If we can survive until 2012, I expect Obama to be defeated and replaced by a Republican. I doubt, regardless of who this person may be, there is any way to survive through his first term. The forces already in motion are too strong to be stopped or reversed.
To identify the real villain, some say we should look in the mirror. While there is no question that voting played a part in where we are, I think it played a relatively small part. When you are provided choices like McCain — Obama, there is no right choice. Think about our country of over 300 million. Are these two people the most qualified to occupy the office of the Presidency? Perhaps dogcatcher, but not much higher levels of responsibility.
Was the last election unusual? Of course not! Think about a few prior elections: Bush — Kerry, Bush — Gore, Clinton — Dole. The picture to the left contains living presidents. These were supposedly the best the country could come up with. Imagine a photo of the losers, or should I say other losers!
Henry Ford provided better choices when he produced his first assembly line cars. That’s right, you had no choice, everyone got the same car. But isn’t that what you have in the political market? Actually you had more choice in the Ford example. You could walk or ride a bicycle which is more choice than having to “buy,” whether you vote or not, a faulty political offering. Oh, one other difference — Ford provided value.
Despite having “honest” elections, the people in this country have little more control over their government than do the people of Egypt. While the people are not blameless, I don’t believe they are the problem. Yes, criminals now run the country, but how can the average citizen prevent that when his choices are criminals or became so shortly after election?
The people did not cause this problem, but they must remedy it or watch their country self destruct. No solution will be coming from Washington. The political elite and their corporate cronies are living high on the hog and intend doing so until the feces makes contact with the air-moving machine.
Then they will bail out either to obscurity inside the country or high living outside the country. A high profile inside the country would be a serious health threat after the collapse.
The following is an email I received pertaining to Obama. I presume that similar lists could be produced that would be as critical of prior Presidents. The point is that Obama is no genius. He is a glib Community Organizer with zero experience relevant to his current job. In that respect he is more vulnerable to ridicule than others.

If any other of our presidents had been the first President to need a
‘Teleprompter’ installed to be able to get through a press conference, would you
have laughed and said this is more proof of how inept he is on his own and is
