To all Vets, thanks for your service and sacrifice.
I lean toward Ron Paul’s vision regarding our foreign policy adventures. That is, I think we have entered wars that we shouldn’t have and at times meddled in places we should not have been. I am not as absolutist in my views as Mr. Paul. We have done great good in some of our interventions, and the world would likely be a much worse place save American involvement.
Regardless of one’s views, you will enjoy the following video that shows our troops. These loyal, trained Americans don’t control the politicians or the decisions they make. They loyally follow orders. Regardless of what they are asked to do or what they think about their mission, they are committed to protecting us and willing to make the ultimate sacrifice if necessary. As such, they are my heroes, regardless of whether they were ordered to fight in a good or bad war. Their commitment represents the best of mankind.
These men and women may soon be placed in a terrible dilemma. As citizens become more and more dissatisfied with their representatives and if they see no hope of change via the ballot box, citizens will resort to other means. At some point, the men and women of the armed forces may be called in to quell protests and uprisings. These very men and women in this video may be opposite you or your neighbor.
For the armed forces, this represents the ultimate conflict, not because of the danger but because of the conflict between Orders and the Constitution. They should never be placed in such a position or forced to make such a choice and I hope that our country rights itself before we reach this point. If it doesn’t, I trust these men and women to side with the Constitution and not the corrupt political class.
Want to feel good about the future of the country? Watch this video. It is inspiring and suggests to me which side these people will take.

Thanks for your salute to vets. I am not one so I truly appreciate what they have done over the span of our history. I have disagreed with you several times on the isolationist position of Ron Paul. At the same time, I respect the intelligent manner in which you take your position and your recognition of our veterans. There have no doubt been many flawed military ventures since we are all flawed in our nature. But on balance, I think we both agree, whatever military efforts we have undertaken, our soldiers have represented America well. Let us hope and pray we can use the military less and lead by example more in the future.
Thanks to all veterans for your service
