In a recent article, Thomas Sowell expressed his opinion:
We have a strange man in the White House. This election is a crossroads, because either his power will be curbed by depriving him of his huge Congressional majorities or he will continue on a road that jeopardizes both our freedom and our survival.
Dr. Sowell provided a useful reminder for voters before Tuesday’s election. He clearly believes that this election is different in the sense that the country may be at stake.
That more than half of the voters voted for this charismatic phony is a forever blight on the concept of enlightened self-government. Whether the result is due to a dysfunctional educational system, a dysfunctional opposition or both is now irrelevant. What is important is to remedy the horrendous mistake(s) of the 2008 election.
