The Constitution, once the operating system of the government, can fit in your pocket.

Legislation used to be short and to the point. Now it is so larded down with special interest favors that one is apt to injure one’s back just by lifting it.

The length of legislation has nothing to do with how complex the world has become. It is a function of how corrupt our political class has become. Don’t blame it on money in politics. Money cannot buy something that isn’t for sale.

One Response to “The Corrupt Political Class”

  1. the graph above is remarkable for the folly it indicates…….. I suppose the politicians are so involved in their situation, as in contituents, their personal lives and ambitions, part of the country they come from and the specific problems there, that they (politicians) cannot step back and see and admit their ignorance and cowardice in getting the US to this point, financially and economically. I believe that several minority groups have such hatred of the ‘system’ or ‘government’ that they will gleefully follow the road to destruction, e.g. Freddie and Fanny, waste and abuse, etc.
Now, we (the US) are trapped on many levels. Were I to stand up and loudly say what I believe about this foolishness, I’m a grumpy old person…….. if I don’t, then I simply observe and wait……. It is so hard for me to find someone of like mind……………. we are so woven into the system we have, it is hard to know what to do…………
