Welcome to the New Hell of ObamaCare.
This welcome is directed specifically at US citizens who will have their healthcare and health costs adversely affected. (That, by the way, is virtually everyone.) As described in a Wall Street Journal editorial:
… the real problem is ObamaCare’s substantive defects, some only now coming to light. Consider the April 22 analysis by Medicare’s chief actuary, Richard Foster, which blasted to smithereens many of Mr. Obama’s claims for the bill.
For starters, Mr. Foster estimated Americans would pay $120 billion in fines for not having adequate insurance coverage and that 14 million people would lose their coverage as rising costs led companies to dump it.
… the Congressional Budget Office updated its cost projections. It found that the new health legislation would cost $115 billion more than estimated when it was enacted.
These costs are merely the tip of the iceberg regarding rising cost estimates to come and the burdens that will be felt by the public. As time passes, the true costs of the bill will become clearer. As in all entitlements, the estimated figures will be but a fraction of the actual costs. Soon effects like fewer hospitals, fewer doctors accepting Medicare patients, longer waits for service, etc. etc. will manifest.
This welcome (or perhaps goodbye) is also directed at the political party responsible for imposing this monster on the American public — the Democrat Party. Also per the WSJ:
The health-care concerns of millions of Americans will ripple through the electorate before November. When joined with other voter concerns on jobs, spending and deficits, these ripples are likely to create what analysts call a “wave” election, which will wash away effective Democratic control of Congress.
Citizens will pay dearly as will Democrats. Unfortunately, the damage done to citizens is permanent and real. The damage done to Democrats is apt to be temporary. After all, those ousted from office have the opportunity to enter similar criminal occupations. Honest citizens unfortunately will be made permanently poorer and permanently less well-served by the health profession.
