A rather interesting racial dynamic is unfolding for future elections. The Democrats have always depended upon disparate groups, managing to hold them together. Sometimes they form a majority that wins elections. This balancing act of competing interests has always been difficult and often strained.

It is about to become more strained than ever, because never before have they tried to cater to two competing minority groups at one time.

Apparently recognizing their vulnerabilities in upcoming elections, the Democrats appear to be putting most of their chips on the Hispanics. That strategy risks costing them some of the  Black vote.

Bob Parks opines on this subject in “Obama’s Risky ‘Southern Strategy’ II:”

As with everything else they’ve done since Election ‘08, the left has overreached again. Earlier overreaches have spawned the Tea Party and Democrats have mostly incurred the wrath of the voters ever since. Losing even a small portion of the black vote may be devastating but live by the race card, die by it.
