The Silent Majority Stirs

I received the following commentary in an email from a friend (NII) with a link to an article:

ANGER IS STARTING TO APPEAR?  The Constitution was designed to have a free press as an added check-and balance to control the politicians.  No more free press, and look at the state of the gov’t and the economy.

One persons’s Comments: From NakedCapitalism, a forthright discussion/analysis on why and how mainstream media is reporting propaganda as news. The article is lengthy. So in a period when information and analysis is needed, the population gets propaganda.  I have seldom seen Yves Smith this “angry”.  She is correct.

An example. Mainstream media reported the 12 September 2009 crowd in Washington DC as 60,000 to 70,000 while the live TV cameras for MSNBC and Reason.TV showed this picture.

But the middle class is on a path of downward mobility while the elites continue to take the cream. The widening gap might waken some impulses that have been dormant in the American psyche.

Why do I go back again to the Eric Hoffer quote: “Beware of the anger of the inarticulate, they have no means of expression but violence.”
